RECRUITMENT OF PRINCIPAL AND OTHER TEACHING POSTS IN
KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA SANGATHAN
The Scheme of Kendriya Vidyalayas (Central Schools) was approved in November,
1962 by the Government of India on the recommendations of the second Central Pay Commission. It recommends that the Government should develop a scheme to provide uninterrupted education to the wards of transferable Central Government employees. Consequently, Central School Organization was started as a unit of the Ministry of Education (now Ministry of Human Resource Development ) of the Govt. of India.
Initially 20 Regimental Schools, then functioning at places having large concentration of defence personnel, were taken over as Central Schools during the academic year 1963-
64.
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan was registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act. (XXI of 1860) on 15th December, 1965. The primary aim of the Sangathan is to provide, establish, endow, maintain, control and manage the Central Schools (Kendriya Vidyalayas) located all over India and abroad. The Govt. of India wholly finances the Sangathan. It runs approximately 1141 Kendriya Vidyalayas including three abroad, five
Zonal Institutes of Education and Training and twenty five Regional Offices spread across the country.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan invites online applications from Indian citizens for recruitment of the Teaching staff to the posts of Principal, Post Graduate Teachers(PGTs), Trained Graduate Teachers(TGTs), Primary Teacher (PRT) and Primary Teacher (Music).
Candidates are required to apply online through KVS website www.kvsangathan.nic.in or www.mecbsekvs.in. No other means/mode of submission of applications will be accepted. The schedule of online application is as under:
(i) Commencement of online registration :27.09.2016 (from 0900 Hours)
on KVS website www.kvsangathan.nic.in
or www.mecbsekvs.in
(ii) Last date for online registration :17.10.2016 (upto 2400 Hours)
The candidates who have paid application fee for the posts of PGTs (English, Hindi, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Commerce, Maths, Biology, History, Geography and Computer Science), Primary Teacher and Primary Teacher (Music) in response to Advertisement No. 10 published in the Employment News dated 23-29 May, 2015 need not pay the application fee again. Their application fee will be adjusted for the present online application for the same post applied earlier subject to fulfilling the eligibility conditions.

2. Details regarding essential and desirable qualifications for various categories of posts, Pay Scales, Age limit, Relaxation of age, Mode of Selection and other related details are given below.
2.1: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
A. FOR THE POST OF PRINCIPAL
PAY SCALE: Rs. 15600-39100 (Grade Pay Rs.7600)
AGE LIMIT: Minimum – 35 years and Maximum–50 years
(as on 31.10.2016)
QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
(a.)Academic
i) Master Degree from recognized university with atleast 45% marks in aggregate. ii) B.Ed or equivalent teaching degree.
(b.)Experience
(i) Persons holding analogous posts or posts of Principals in Central/State Govt./ Autonomous organizations of Central/State Govt. in the Pay Band of Rs. 15600-39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.7600;
OR
(ii)Vice-Principal/Asstt. Education Officers in Central/State Govt./ Autonomous organizations of Central/State Govt. in the pay band of Rs. 15600-39100 with Grade pay of Rs. 5400 with combined services of 05 years as PGT and 02 year as Vice-Principal.
OR
(iii) Persons holding posts of PGTs or Lecturer in Central/State Govt./ Autonomous organizations of Central/State Govt. in the pay band of Rs. 9300-34800 with Grade Pay Rs. 4800 or equivalent with at least 8 years' regular service in the aforesaid grade.
OR
(iv) 15 years combined regular services as TGT in the Pay band of Rs. 9300-34800/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 4600/- and PGT in the Pay Band of Rs. 9300-34800/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 4800/- out of which 03 years as PGT.
(v) Desirable Qualifications:
Knowledge of computer application.
B. FOR THE POST GRADUATE TEACHERS (PGTs)

(a) Two Year Integrated Post Graduate M.Sc. Course of Regional College of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject.

Master's Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in
