Principle of Teaching Language:
1. This method is given by John Dewey. Students learn by involving themselves in activity.
2. Learning is a natural process. Teaching of language should start from oral rather than written.
3. Practice makes a man perfect. The more we practice the more we learn.
4. Learning something by seeing e.g. poem recitation, spelling words etc.
5. A learner is motivated by using appropriate teaching methods, by praising him, giving rewards etc. and his interest can be developed by connecting new topics to previous ones.
6. A child learns to wash his hands before every meal as it has become his habit.
7. If a task is divided into parts i.e. ratio and arranged in a sequence it is easy to learn.
8. Before should be writing down on paper the speech mentally prepared.
9. The topic should be selected according to the age, level and interest of the students and proper teaching aids should be used.
10. Tests should be conducted frequently to diagnose and evaluate the student.
11. Teaching should be child centered i.e. according to the level and interest of he students.
12. Known and easy topics should be taught first and then unknown and difficult topic should be taught. From whole to parts i.e. if the topic is ‘mechanics’ first the whole bike should be shown and then its parts should be explained.
