Classification of Government School Teachers
In India, the teaching Profession is quite diverse. If one tries to divide the procedure of becoming teachers in a Government Institution, there can be possibly 2 stages, which are:
1. College Level – Professors, Assistant and Associate Professors
2. School Level – Post Graduate Teachers (PGT), Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) and Primary Teachers (PRT)

Process of Selection of Government School Teachers
The Process of Selection of Government school Teachers is quite diverse and well suitable in our country. While the responsibility of selection of Professors in entirely into the hands of the Central Government, the Selection of Government school teachers lie completely with the state governments barring some schools of MHRD. The state government conducts various tests to select a candidate for the government school teaching profession, the eligibility criteria of which has been given here:
Eligibility Criteria for Selection of Government Teachers
The following education criterions must be followed by the candidates to seek the job of Government teachers in the government schools:
For Primary Teachers (PRT)
· The candidates must have completed class XII examination from any board or equivalent State board with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
· They must have degree of compulsory two year course in D. Ed for teachers training in any reputed training school duly recognised by the Directorate of Education, Delhi Government.
· They must have qualified the centrally conducted Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET).
· If the candidates have completed all the above mentioned criterions, they should appear for the examinations of filling vacancies by their respective state governments.
For Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT)
· The candidates must have completed class XII examination from any board or equivalent State board with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
· The candidates should possess the graduation degree in any stream from a UGC Certified college in any stream. They must have acquired first degree for special preference.
· They should have done a compulsory two year course in Bachelor for Education (B. Ed) for from any college recognised by the Delhi board.
· Only those candidates who have completed the B. Ed degree can take examination for the TGT recruitment.
For Post Graduate Teachers (PGT)
· The aspirants should have cleared the graduation from a recognised university by UGC in any stream.
· They must have done masters’ degree in the same subject from a recognised university.
· They should have done a compulsory two year course in Bachelor for Education (B. Ed) for from any college recognised by the Delhi board. Apart from that they must have completed the M. Ed in the same subject.
· They should either have done M. Ed or M.A. in any subject followed by M. Ed to be able to fill for the PGT Vacancies released by their respective states.

State Government School Teachers
Every State Government releases application form for the recruitment of teachers into their government schools. The application form are not continuous which means that they are not released every year by the State government and hence, the candidates should take the full advantage of the opportunities provided to them by the State Government. To be able to fill the application form for the State Government schools, the candidates must all the eligibility criteria prescribed in the article above as well as the extra credentials asked by the Government at the time of release of the notification. Sometimes the Government also releases notifications seeking application for the mentioned jobs and hence do not require any recruitment examinations to be conducted. In that case, the candidates need to submit an application form and wait to be shortlisted in them.
Navodaya Vidyalaya School Teachers

Kendriya Vidyalaya School Teachers
Every year, the teacher aspirants wait for this highly prestigious opening to be made and hence there is a great deal of hustle and bustle for the same. The selection process often be a three step process, the complete details of which would only be available when the official notification gets released. The three tier selection process will include:
· Written Examination
· Personal Interview
· Medical Test
The candidates should note that the KVS will release the official application form on their official website. Once the application form is released, the candidates will require visiting the official website and filling the application form by furnishing the details asked in there. The candidates will then require to pay the application fee either through online process or through the bank challan.
Municipal Corporation Schools
Often the recruitment of teachers at the Municipal Corporation schools are done by the state government but sometimes the Municipal Corporations also conduct their recruitment on their own.
