Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE conducting authority
of CTET 2020 will decide the eligibility criteria for all the
aspirants who want to apply for the exam. All the applicants need to

CTET will tentatively commence in the month of February 2020. The
conditions mentioned in the eligibility criteria of CTET 2020 are
based on attempt count and previous educational qualifications.

any stage of the exam. The eligibility conditions of CTET 2020 is
different for both the papers as the eligibility criteria was
redefined last year by CBSE. As per the CTET eligibility criteria,
applicants who possess a B.Ed degree with a minimum of 50 % marks can
apply for paper I and can appear for both the papers. Previously this
criteria was applicable only for elementary level teachers only. The

Details of CTET Eligibility Criteria 2020
In order to be eligible for CTET
2020 applicants need to ensure they fulfill the
eligibility criteria of CTET 2020 as decided by CBSE. The details
pertaining to CTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria are explained below for
the reference of candidates:
Age: As stated in the previous
official notification of CTET exam, there is no upper age limit to
apply for the exam. If there are any changes in the details of age
limit, the same will be notified on this page once the official
notification is released.
Educational Qualification: The
CTET exam is conducted in two parts i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1
is for candidates interested in teaching class I - V and Paper 2 is
for those willing to teach class V-VIII. Since the exams are
different for different levels, the eligibility criteria of CTET 2020
for both the papers is also different. The details of educational

Number of Attempts: As per CBSE
there is no cap on the number of attempts for any applicant. Even if
a candidate has appeared for CTET
exam previously they can give a shot again for
scoring better marks.
Qualifying Marks - Apart from
the required educational qualifications, applicants should also
require minimum qualifying marks in the CTET
2020 exam in order to get the final eligibility certificate. As per
the CTET Eligibility Criteria 2020, candidates from general category
are required to score at least 60% marks in order to qualify exam
whereas candidates from SC/ST/OBC and PWD candidates will be given
reservation as per the government’s policy,

CTET Eligibility Ceritificate
All those applicants who fulfill the
eligibility criteria of CTET 2020 will be able to apply for the exam.
The CTET
application form is online and the candidates will
have to complete the online registration process in order to

Those candidates who will clear the
CTET exam by securing equal or above the minimum qualifying marks as
decided by CBSE will be issued a CTET eligibility certificate which
is valid for a period of 7 years from the date of issue.
