CTET Entrance Exam
According to the provisions of sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the RTE Act, the NCTE vide Notification dated 23rd August, 2010 and 29th JULY, 2011 decided the minimum qualifications for a person to teach classes I to VIII. In accordance to NCTE norms, one of the essential qualification for a person to be eligible as a teacher of section 2 of the RTE Act is that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the State Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE.
The ministry of Human Resource Development laid the responsibility for conducting Teacher Eligibility Test on CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) Delhi.
The purpose for including the TET for a person to be appointed as a teacher is as under:
- It will set the national standards and benchmark of qualities & specialities of teacher in the recruitment process.
- It will provide best teacher education institutions and students from these institutions to improve their performance standards for upcoming generation
- It will send a positive thought to all stakeholders that the Government decided some parameters for teacher quality to improve education system.
CTET Entrance Exam
It is an exam to access the teaching capabilities of a person to serve in central schools. It is the only gateway to get a teaching job in central schools as well as in private schools, junior & primary level. CTET is the minimum eligibility requirement defined for teachers in any government, private or public school.

The candidate, who will be found eligible should proceed to fill online application. The aspirants should meet following eligibility conditions to appear in CTET Entrance Exam.
Exam will be conducted in two sessions and each session will be of two and a half hour duration separately for paper 1 & paper 2.
All the candidates are suggested to refer authorized publishers text books and syllabus suggested by NCTE for appearing in CTET Entrance exam.
