KVS Eligibility Criteria 2020
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has decided some eligibility criteria to appear in KVS TGT/PRT/PGT exam 2020. Mainly two points are considered for a candidate to assess if he/she is eligible to appear in exam or not.
1) Age criteria
To be Eligible for KVS PRT/TGT/PGT
- Principal - 35 - 50 yrs.
- Vice - principal - 35 - 45 yrs.
- PGTs - 40 yrs (max)
- TGTs - 35 yrs (max)
- PRTs - 30 yrs (max)
- Librarian - 35 yrs (max.)
2) Educational Qualification:-
- For Principal, Vice - principal, PGTs & PRTs - B.Ed degree is compulsory
- Principal - Masters Degree(>=45%) + B.Ed + (>=15 Yrs. Experience)
- Vice - Principal - Masters Degree + B.Ed + (>=5 Yrs. Experience)
- PGTs - Masters Degree(>=50% in relevant subject) + B.Ed
- Candidates having only special B.ed are not eligible for PGT Posts.
- TGTs - Bachelors Degree(>=50%) + CTET (Passed or appearing)
- Librarian - Bachelors Degree in library science OR 1 year diploma in library science
- Primary Teacher (Gp - B) - Sr. Sec. (>=50%) + CTET (Passed or appearing) + 2 yrs.diploma in elementary education
- Primary Teacher (Music) - Sr. Sec. (>=50%) + Degree in Music
Basic knowledge of computer is must for all the posts.
- AS per OM dated 15/01/20 of DOPT, following categories to be given 1% reservation
- Autism, Intellectual disabilities, specific learning disabilities and mental illness.
- Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clause a) to d) including blindness

Amendment in qualification for PRT KVS
In reference to NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) dated 28/06/18, regarding minimum qualification of PRT, the following amendment has been made
Senior Secondary with (>=50%) + 2 year diploma in elementary education
OR
Senior. Secondary with (>=50%) + 4 year bachelor degree in Elementary education.
OR
Senior Secondary (>=50%) + 2 year diploma in special education

All the relaxations will be concurrent. If a person is eligible for more than one concession than highest permissible limit will be granted.
Candidates with disability (>= 40%), if they need scribe, will have their own scribe to assist them in exam. There is no restriction with regard to educational qualification or age for the scribe. Compensatory time will be allowed for the candidate with disability (>=40%), is 20 minutes per hour of examination.
